URCE-PHOTO AND FILM CLUB

Photo and Film Club

Mission Statement : The Photography Club provides an informal, friendly, and supportive environment for photographers at all levels of experience and with interests in all types of photographic imagery. The club fosters and encourages growth of artistic vision and technical knowledge, exploring the connection between the eye, the camera, and the spirit. Members share ideas and knowledge with each other and help to promote interest in photography in the community through exhibitions and other events. The movie / film club encourages the students in story writing, scripting and direction along with motion picture development. It lets the students ooze with creativity at every step thereby letting off from the pressure of studies and other core related activities.

Members : The Club has about 25 members, who come from all departments, from beginners to professionals. Membership is open to anyone with a vision. Members use digital, film, point & shoot, rangefinder, video, pinhole cameras, and cell phones. It is not even necessary to own a camera, just have an interest in photography & film making.

Monthly Meetings : The monthly meetings are free and open to the departments. Anyone is welcome to come and try out the Club. The meetings are on the first Saturday of every month, 3:15 p.m., at the library discussion room.

Activities : Club activities are planned at an annual meeting held in June 2nd week, with input and decision making by all members who wish to participate. The club coordinators makes arrangements for and implements the planned activities.
